Templeton Farming Enterprises began in the 1940s, trading as Templeton Ginger. Over time, the Templeton Ginger name became synonymous with quality and reliability, earning a trusted place with wholesalers across Australia. While fresh ginger remains at the heart of our business, we’ve grown to include sugarcane, soybeans, and pasture for cattle grazing — creating a diverse and sustainable farming enterprise. Now in its fourth generation, the Templeton family continues to uphold a proud legacy of producing high-quality Australian produce, built on trust, experience, and care for the land.

Templeton Ginger began in the 1940s when Allan and Valmai Templeton planted a small patch of ginger on their Sunshine Coast farm — a modest start that has grown into Australia’s largest ginger operation. It all began when Allan split a kerosene tin full of ginger seed with his neighbour, planting just a few square metres. The Templeton family were among the first growers to join the Buderim Ginger Cooperative, proudly supplying Buderim Ginger. Over more than 80 years, the family’s passion and dedication have seen production expand to around 65 hectares annually, supplying fresh markets and major processors across Australia.

Through diversification and innovation, we’ve built a sustainable business that continues to evolve and strengthen over time. Growing ginger is hands-on, demanding work that calls for perseverance, and a strong work ethic — qualities that our teams proudly show every season. With farms across the Sunshine Coast, Mary Valley, and Fraser Coast, we’re able to supply fresh ginger to customers year-round. These three growing regions allow us to manage seasonal variability and maintain strict biosecurity standards, ensuring only the highest quality ginger reaches our customers and agents.
